Moors, Moors and More Moors Oh My!

So this morning we had a quick breakfast in the dining room before heading out to town. I booked us on a train to see the Moors which Mom has always wanted to see. In order to get to the train station, we had to take a bus. Mom was stoked because it was a double decker bus...

See how excited she is...

The train follows a route from the town of Pickering to the town of Whitby, which was prominently featured in Bram Stoker's Dracula, in case you were wondering...

And it wasn't a regular train, it was an old fashioned steam train...

Mom was again pretty excited...

The train also goes by a station that was seen in the Harry Potter films as well...

The scenery was really pretty, and you can see why people would write so many stories that were set on the Moors...

You can almost see Jane Eyre...

Or Catherine...

Walking along these hills covered in mist...

It's a pretty awesome visual, right Dad?

The train went for a few hours and everything kept getting greener...

This was some really old bridge or viaduct, I'm gonna say its Roman...

Then we arrived in Whitby and it was such a quaint little fishing town...

And speaking of fish, we went to Magpie's Cafe because our taxi driver said it was the best fish and chips in Britain, and he wasn't lying...

OMG it was delicious!!

Then we wandered around town for a bit...

And walked up the 199 steps to St. Mary's Church...

Trying not to freeze our butts off...

It was beanie time, waaaay too cold...

I feel like that was the Moor Keira Knightley was standing on in Pride & Prejudice. Am I crazy?

It's been another great day, but we are all definitely exhausted...

So it's going to be an early night...

We have one more day in York...

And then we are off to Dublin....

To meet up with Brad...

That's all for now, later!
